Purchasing a home can be a very overwhelming and daunting process. This is especially true when it is your first time buying a home. But by doing your homework, knowing what you want in a home and a neighborhood, and how much you’re willing to spend will help the process run smoother and help to alleviate unneeded stress. Below you will find several homebuyer steps to owning a home with Thompson Homes:

First you will choose your home and homesite. Once you have toured our homes and communities in Newburgh IN., you will select your home design and homesite. Then you should obtain mortgage pre-approval. We recommend meeting with a mortgage consultant to pre-qualify for a home loan. Getting pre-approved does not mean you have a loan. However, it simply lets you know what you should be able to afford. We work with preferred lenders whom we have established exclusive partnerships with and who understand and know Thompson Homes. Afterwards, you will personalize your home at the Thompson Homes Design Center with our Design Coordinator. During this process you will select your interior design and exterior home features to customize your new home including the bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, and entryway. Up next there will be a buyer’s Pre-Launch Meeting, Pre Drywall walk-thru, and finally, the Buyer’s Orientation Meeting (BOM). After the BOM you will be on your way to closing day! Finally it is time to move in and enjoy your new sweet home.
